Modify Records Command

Modify Records is a very powerful command. It is ONLY available to Administrative users. If you have any questions about what you are doing please contact i.Comp support before using this command.

ENTER menu -- MODIFY RECORDS

Modify Records allows you to "batch" change field values for a selection of records. For example, if you have a list of claims with a loss description of "Low Back" and you need that to read "Lower Back", Modify Records can change those all at once.

When it comes to claim numbers you need to use the "Change Claim Number" command. Modify Records ONLY affects the current table. So, when you modified recs on the claim claim_no it wll NOTt update the related records. So, they (status date, stakeholder, first report) will still pointing to the old claim number.

Change Claim Number is found in the Action menu(lower right) under apply action.
